     Reverend William Sinclair was born on 4 September 1804.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir John Sinclair of Ulbster, 1st Bt. and Diana Macdonald.² He married, firstly, Helen Ellice, daughter of William Ellice, on 28 December 1837.¹ He married, secondly, Sophia Mary Georgiana Tripp, daughter of Reverend James Tripp, on 15 April 1846.² He died on 8 July 1878 at age 73.²
     He graduated from St. Mary’s Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Madras Cavalry.¹ He was Incumbent in 1838 at St. George’s, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.² He was Rector in 1857 at Pulborough, Sussex, England.¹ He held the office of Prebendary of Chichester in 1874.¹

     William Ellice is the son of Alexander Ellice.²

     Helen Ellice was the daughter of William Ellice.² She married Reverend William Sinclair, son of Rt. Hon. Sir John Sinclair of Ulbster, 1st Bt. and Diana Macdonald, on 28 December 1837.¹ She died in October 1842.¹
     From 28 December 1837, her married name became Sinclair.

     Alexander Edward Sinclair was born on 30 May 1839.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Sinclair and Helen Ellice.² He died on 24 September 1887 at age 48, without issue.¹

     Lt.-Col. Walter Sinclair was born on 15 April 1841.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Sinclair and Helen Ellice.² He married Kathleen Dickinson, daughter of Henry B. F. Dickinson, on 4 February 1874.¹ He died in 1887.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment.¹

     Henry B. F. Dickinson lived at Ashton Keynes, Wiltshire, England.¹

     Kathleen Dickinson is the daughter of Henry B. F. Dickinson.² She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Walter Sinclair, son of Reverend William Sinclair and Helen Ellice, on 4 February 1874.¹ She married, secondly, Maj.-Gen. George Upton Prior on 8 November 1893.¹
     From 4 February 1874, her married name became Sinclair. From 8 November 1893, her married name became Prior.¹

     Gladys Muriel Sinclair was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Walter Sinclair and Kathleen Dickinson.² She married Frank Hird, son of James Hird, on 5 July 1921.¹ She died on 6 May 1943.¹
     From 5 July 1921, her married name became Hird.

     James Hird lived at Low Moor, Yorkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.¹

     Frank Hird was the son of James Hird.² He married Gladys Muriel Sinclair, daughter of Lt.-Col. Walter Sinclair and Kathleen Dickinson, on 5 July 1921.¹ He died on 21 November 1937.¹
     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹
