     Sir James Stuart-Menteth of Closeburn, 2nd Bt. was born on 19 August 1792.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Granville Stuart-Menteth of Closeburn, 1st Bt. and Ludivina Loughnan.2 He married Jane Bailey, daughter of Sir Joseph Bailey, 1st Bt. and Maria Latham, on 17 December 1846.1 He died on 27 February 1870 at age 77, without issue.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Stuart-Menteth, of Closeburn, co. Dumfries and Mansfield, co. Ayr [U.K., 1838] on 3 December 1847.1

     From 7 September 1832, her married name became Stuart-Menteth.

     Sir James Stuart-Menteth of Closeburn, 3rd Bt. was born on 29 July 1841.1 He was the son of Thomas Loughnan Stuart-Menteth and Isabella Maria Tobin.2 He married Helen Gertrude Fay, daughter of Darwin E. Fay, on 10 December 1872.1 He died on 28 October 1918 at age 77, without male issue.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Stuart-Menteth, of Closeburn, co. Dumfries and Mansfield, co. Ayr [U.K., 1838] on 27 February 1870.1
