James Robert Ballentyne1 
James Robert Ballentyne was born on 13 December 1813 at Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Alexander Ballentyne.2 He married Annabella Georgina Monck-Mason, daughter of Captain Thomas Monck-Mason and Mary Grey, in 1854.1 He died on 16 February 1864 at age 50 at London, England.2
He was educated at New Academy and College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He wrote the book A Grammar of the Hindustani Language , published 1838.2 He wrote the book The Practical Oriental Interpreter , published 1843.2 He was a teacher of Hindi and Sanskrit at Scottish Naval and Military Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the principal between 1845 and 1862 at Banaras Sanskrit College, Banaras, India.2 He was India Office Librarian.2

Sir Edward George Jenkinson was born in 1836 at Hastings, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of Edward Jenkinson.1 He married Annabella Georgina Monck-Mason, daughter of Captain Thomas Monck-Mason and Mary Grey, on 9 October 1865 at Dargle, County Dublin, Ireland.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He was with the Indian Civil Service in 1856.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny.1 He was joint magistrate and deputy collector of Benares.1 He was Assistant Under-Secretary of Police [Ireland] between 1882 and 1885.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1883.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1888.1
