He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Grove, of Ferne, Wiltshire [U.K., 1874] on 14 January 1897.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Wiltshire.1

He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He was with the British South African Police in Rhodesia between 1911 and 1917.1 He fought in the First World War, in the German South-West and British South African Campaigns.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1917 in the King’s African Rifles.2 He was Extra Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of South Africa in 1918.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1 He was with the Foreign Office between 1920 and 1921.1 He was Private Secretary to the Governor of Victoria in 1922.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Grove, of Ferne, Wiltshire [U.K., 1874] on 9 February 1932.1
