     Ethel Martha Royden was the daughter of Sir Thomas Bland Royden, 1st Bt. and Alice Elizabeth Dowdall.² She died on 30 August 1955, unmarried.¹
     She was Deputy Assistant Director in the Women’s Royal Naval Service during the First World War.¹ She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹

     Mary Catherine Royden was born circa 1871.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Bland Royden, 1st Bt. and Alice Elizabeth Dowdall.² She died on 31 January 1966, unmarried.¹
     She was First Commissioner of Cheshire Girl Guides.¹
