     Henry Portman was the son of Sir Edward Seymour, 3rd Bt. and Anne Portman.2 He married, firstly, Penelope Haslewood, daughter of Sir William Haslewood.1 He married, secondly, Meliora Fitch, daughter of William Fitch.3 He died in February 1727/28, without issue.1
     He was given the name of Henry Seymour at birth.2 He was Groom of the Bedchamber.2 Circa 1690 his name was legally changed to Henry Portman on inheriting his cousin the 6th and last Bt’s estates.2 He lived at Orchard Portman, Somerset, England.2 He lived at Langley, Buckinghamshire, England.2 On his death, his estates passed by entail to his cousin William Berkeley later Portman.2
