     Sir John Palmer-Acland, 1st Bt. was born on 11 February 1756.1 He was the son of Arthur Palmer Acland and Elizabeth Oxenham.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Fuller, daughter of Reverend Henry Fuller and Frances Fuller, in 1781.1 He married, secondly, Sarah Maria Knipe, daughter of Robert Knipe, on 5 November 1818.1 He died on 23 February 1831 at age 75.1
     He was given the name of John Acland at birth.1 In 1818 his name was legally changed to John Palmer-Acland by sign manual.1 He was created 1st Baronet Palmer-Acland, of Fairfield, co. Somerset [U.K.] on 9 December 1818.1 He lived at Fairfield, Somerset, England.1
