     Brig.-Gen. Gerald Hedley Ovens was the son of Reverend T. Ovens.1 He married Julia Janey Carter-Campbell, daughter of Colonel Thomas Tupper Carter-Campbell and Emily Georgiana Campbell, 4th of Possil, on 24 June 1893.1 He died on 19 April 1933.1
     He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Border Regiment.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
