William Fraser Macdonell, V.C.1

     William Fraser Macdonell, V.C. was born in December 1832.1 He was the son of Æneas Ranald Macdonell, 19th of Glengarry and 6th of Scotus and Juliana Charlotte Wade.2 He married Anne Louisa Duff, daughter of Captain unknown Duff, in August 1851.1 He died in 1894.1
     He held the office of High Court Judge [Calcutta].1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 29 July 1857 for gallantry in the attempted relief of Arrah during the Indian Rebellion.1
