     Richard Wogan Talbot, 5th Baron Talbot of Malahide was born on 28 February 1846.¹ He was the son of James Talbot, 4th Baron Talbot of Malahide and Maria Margaretta Murray.¹ He married, firstly, Emily Harriette Boswell, daughter of Sir James Boswell of Auchinleck, 2nd Bt. and Jessie Jean Montgomery-Cuninghame, on 25 June 1873.¹ He married, secondly, Isabel Charlotte Blake-Humfrey, daughter of Robert Blake-Humfrey, on 10 December 1901.¹ He died on 4 March 1921 at age 75.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Dublin.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Talbot de Malahide, co. Dublin [U.K., 1856] on 14 April 1883.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Talbot of Malahide, and Lord Malahide of Malahide, co. Dublin [I., 1831] on 14 April 1883.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Dublin.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 9th Lancers.¹

     Emily Harriette Boswell was the daughter of Sir James Boswell of Auchinleck, 2nd Bt. and Jessie Jean Montgomery-Cuninghame.¹ She married Richard Wogan Talbot, 5th Baron Talbot of Malahide, son of James Talbot, 4th Baron Talbot of Malahide and Maria Margaretta Murray, on 25 June 1873.¹ She died on 24 January 1898.¹
     From 25 June 1873, her married name became Talbot.¹ After her marriage, Emily Harriette Boswell was styled as Baroness Talbot of Malahide on 14 April 1883.
