     William Hughes was born in 1803.¹ He was the son of Rev. Sir Robert Hughes, 3rd Bt. and Bethia Hiscutt.² He married Jane Caroline Knapman, daughter of Edward Knapman, in 1827.¹ He died in August 1861.¹
     He was a practising barrister.¹

     Edward Knapman lived at Bideford, Devon, England.¹

     Jane Caroline Knapman is the daughter of Edward Knapman.² She married William Hughes, son of Rev. Sir Robert Hughes, 3rd Bt. and Bethia Hiscutt, in 1827.¹
     From 1827, her married name became Hughes.

     William Collingwood Hughes was born on 16 July 1830.¹ He was the son of William Hughes and Jane Caroline Knapman.² He married Fanny Agnes Fynmore, daughter of Colonel James Fynmore, on 16 October 1855.¹ He died on 3 July 1899 at age 68.¹

     Colonel James Fynmore gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal MArines Light Infantry.¹

     Fanny Agnes Fynmore was the daughter of Colonel James Fynmore.² She married William Collingwood Hughes, son of William Hughes and Jane Caroline Knapman, on 16 October 1855.¹ She died on 7 November 1904.¹
     From 16 October 1855, her married name became Hughes.

     Lt.-Cdr. Collingwood James Hughes was born on 31 January 1872.¹ He was the son of William Collingwood Hughes and Fanny Agnes Fynmore.² He married Lilian Crocker, daughter of John Crocker, on 11 August 1899.¹ He died on 25 March 1963 at age 91.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He gained the rank of Paymaster in the Cape Colonial Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Rexerve.¹ He fought in the South-West Campaign between 1914 and 1915, with the South African Expeditionary Force.¹ He was with Naval Intelligence Department Admiralty between 1917 and 1919.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peckham between 1922 and 1924.¹

     John Crocker was the Head at Royal Navy Engineering College, Keyham, England.¹

     Lilian Crocker is the daughter of John Crocker.² She married Lt.-Cdr. Collingwood James Hughes, son of William Collingwood Hughes and Fanny Agnes Fynmore, on 11 August 1899.¹
     From 11 August 1899, her married name became Hughes.

     Helen Lily Collingwood Hughes was born on 7 March 1903.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Cdr. Collingwood James Hughes and Lilian Crocker.²
