     Captain Thomas Arthur Nelson was born in 1877 at St. Leonards, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2,3 He was the son of Thomas Nelson and Jessie K. Kemp.4,2 He married Margaret Balfour, daughter of Alexander Balfour of Dawyck and Janet Roxburgh, on 18 June 1903.4 He died on 9 April 1917 at Arras, France, killed in action.2
     He was a partner of Thomas Nelson and Sons, publishers.2 He fought in the First World War. He lived at Achnacloich, Connel, Argyllshire, ScotlandG.5 He lived at St. Leonards, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.5 He gained the rank of Captain in the Lothian and Borders Horse.2
