General George Saumarez1

     General George Saumarez was born in 1816.1 He was the son of Thomas de Sausmarez and Martha Dobrée.2 He married, firstly, Annie de Lisle.1 He married, secondly, Louise d’Arcy Walters, daughter of Reverend Nicholas Walters.2 He died on 4 July 1890, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of General in the Indian Army.1 He was Seigneur of Sausmarez in 1873.1

     Philip Sausmarez was born on 17 November 1710.1 He was the son of Matthew de Sausmarez and Anne Durell.2 He died on 14 October 1747 at age 36, killed in action.2
     In 1743 he sailed with Commodore Anson on his voyage round the world.1 He fought in the Battle of Finisterre on 14 October 1747.1
