Thomas Fitzgerald, 18th Knight of Glin1

     Thomas Fitzgerald, 18th Knight of Glin was the son of Major Gerald Fitzgerald, 17th Knight of Glin and Joan O’Brien.2 He married Mary FitzGerald, daughter of Edmond FitzGerald.3 He died in 1730/31.3
     He succeeded as the 18th Knight of Glin in 1689.3 On 12 March 1701 he obtained a Certificate for not having taken part in the wars of King James II, although he was an active supporter of Jacobite cause.3 In 1713/14 he was one of the Catholic nobility of Ireland licensed to carry arms.3
