Lady Mary Saville1

Lady Mary Saville was born in 1700.2 She was the daughter of William Saville, 2nd Marquess of Halifax and Lady Mary Finch.1 She married Sackville Tufton, 7th Earl of Thanet, son of Colonel Sackville Tufton and Elizabeth Wilbraham, on 11 June 1722.1 She died on 30 July 1751.1
From 11 June 1722, her married name became Tufton.1

He was educated at Military School, Angers, FranceG.1 He gained the rank of Ensign in 1787 in the 66th (Durham) Regiment of Foot.1 He gained the rank of Ensign in 1788 in the 7th (Royal Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1793 in the Balfour’s Regiment of Foot.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of the Isle of Thanet, co. Kent [E., 1628] on 24 January 1825.1

(Whig) for Rochester between 1796 and 1802.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Appleby between 1826 and 1832.1 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of the Isle of Thanet, co. Kent [E., 1628] on 20 April 1832.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant for Kent between 1841 and 1846.1 On his death, his titles became extinct.1
