     Reverend Thomas Twysden was born on 21 August 1801.¹ He was the son of Captain Thomas Twysden and Isabella Duncan.¹ He married Elizabeth Fortescue, daughter of Edmund Nathaniel William Fortescue, on 15 October 1827.¹ He died in October 1887 at age 86.¹
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was the Rector at Charlton, Kingsbridge, Devon, England^G.¹

     Captain Thomas Twysden was born on 20 October 1765.¹ He was the son of Sir William Twysden, 6th Bt. and Mary Jervis.¹ He married Isabella Duncan, daughter of Henry Duncan.¹ He died on 4 October 1801 at age 35.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Jane Thomlinson was the daughter of John Thomlinson.¹ She married Sir Thomas Twisden, 1st Bt., son of Sir William Twysden, 1st Bt. and Lady Anne Finch, on 26 December 1639.^1,3 She died on 24 September 1702.³
     From 26 December 1639, her married name became Twisden.¹

     John Thomlinson married Eleanor Dodsworth, daughter of Matthew Dodsworth.¹
     He lived at St. Michael’s le Belfry, York, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Eleanor Dodsworth is the daughter of Matthew Dodsworth.¹ She married John Thomlinson.¹
     Her married name became Thomlinson.¹

     Matthew Dodsworth was Chancellor of the Diocese of York.¹

     Sir Roger Twisden, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1640.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Twisden, 1st Bt. and Jane Thomlinson.¹ He and Margaret Marsham obtained a marriage license on 7 December 1667.¹ He died on 28 February 1702/3, suddenly.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in June 1703.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Twisden, of Bradbourne, Kent [E., 1666] on 2 January 1682/83.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rochester from 1689 to 1690.¹ He lived at Bradbourne, Kent, England^G.¹ He had three other sons who all died in infancy.²

     Margaret Marsham was born circa 1647.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Marsham, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Hammond.¹ She and Sir Roger Twisden, 2nd Bt. obtained a marriage license on 7 December 1667.¹ She died on 30 January 1687.²
     From 7 December 1667, her married name became Twisden.¹

     Sir John Marsham, 1st Bt. was born on 23 August 1602.² He was the son of Thomas Marsham and Magdalen Springham.² He married Elizabeth Hammond, daughter of Sir William Hammond, on 13 January 1630/31.² He died on 25 May 1685 at age 82.²
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.² He was educated at St. John’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He was admitted to Middle Temple.² He was Clerk in Chancery from February 1637/38 to 1641.² He was an antiquary and historian.² He was appointed Knight in 1660.² He was Clerk in Chancery between 1660 and 1680.² He was created 1st Baronet Marsham, of Whorn’s Place, Cuxton, Kent [England] on 12 August 1663.²

     Elizabeth Hammond is the daughter of Sir William Hammond.¹ She married Sir John Marsham, 1st Bt., son of Thomas Marsham and Magdalen Springham, on 13 January 1630/31.³
     From 13 January 1630/31, her married name became Marsham.
