Brig.-Gen. Netterville Guy Barron1 
He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1887, in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, during which he was wounded. He was mentioned in despatches.1 He was the Commander of the Heavy Artillery XVII Corps between 1917 and 1919.1 He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1 He retired from the military in 1920, with the rank of Brigadier-General, late of the Royal Artillery.1 He held the office of Divisional Commissioner Munster between 1920 and 1922.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1923.1
