     Colin Alan George Campbell was born in 1917.¹ He was the son of Sir Archibald Young Gipps Campbell and Frances Irene Young.² He married, firstly, Mary Cosser Young, daughter of Ramsay Young, in 1945.¹ He and Mary Cosser Young were divorced in 1961.¹ He married, secondly, Joanna Frances Ball, daughter of George Falconer Ball, in 1966.¹ He died on 27 October 2005.³
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Black Watch.¹ He was with the Foreign Service.¹ He lived in 2003 at The Old Manse, Lochgair, Lochgilphead, Argyllshire, Scotland^G.¹
