     Sarah Holmes Hodgkinson is the daughter of Captain unknown Hodgkinson.¹ She married William Jones Burdett, son of Francis Burdett and Eleanor Jones, after 1807.¹
     In 1807 her name was legally changed to Sarah Holmes Brent.¹ From after 1807, her married name became Burdett.¹

     Captain unknown Hodgkinson gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Burdett, 7th Bt. was born on 23 March 1813.¹ He was the son of William Jones Burdett and Sarah Holmes Hodgkinson.¹ He married, firstly, Amelia Eliza Sharp, daughter of Major James Sharp, on 22 October 1842.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Dorothy Smyth, daughter of John Smyth, on 22 August 1867.¹ He died on 31 May 1892 at age 79 at 6 Chesham Place, London, England^G.¹ He was buried at Foremark, Repton, Derbyshire, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate), at £80,613 gross and £69,304 net.¹
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He was commissioned in 1834, in the service of the Army.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1840 in the 17th Lancers.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Surrey in 1880.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Burdett, of Bramcott, co. Warwick [E., 1619] on 7 June 1880.¹

     Amelia Eliza Sharp was the daughter of Major James Sharp.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Burdett, 7th Bt., son of William Jones Burdett and Sarah Holmes Hodgkinson, on 22 October 1842.¹ She died on 14 April 1866, without issue.¹
     From 22 October 1842, her married name became Burdett.¹

     Major James Sharp lived at Kincarrathie, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Mary Dorothy Smyth was the daughter of John Smyth.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Burdett, 7th Bt., son of William Jones Burdett and Sarah Holmes Hodgkinson, on 22 August 1867.¹ She died after 1899.¹
     From 22 August 1867, her married name became Burdett.¹

     John Smyth lived at Cleatlam, County Durham, England^G.¹

     Sir Francis Burdett, 8th Bt. was born in 1869.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Burdett, 7th Bt. and Mary Dorothy Smyth.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 4th Dragoon Guards and 17th Lancers.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Burdett, of Bramcott, co. Warwick [E., 1619] on 31 May 1892.¹

     unknown wife (?) married Sir Francis Burdett, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Francis Burdett, 1st Bt. and Frances Stephenson, before 1741 at York, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ She died on 18 November 1757.¹ She was buried at St. Mary’s Castlegate, York, Yorkshire, England^G.¹
     From before 1741, her married name became Burdett.¹

     Captain Francis Burdett was born on 19 April 1712.¹ He was the son of Sir Francis Burdett, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Wyndham.¹ He was baptised on 13 May 1712 at St. Andrew’s Church, Holborn, London, England^G.¹ He died before 1747 at Kingston, Jamaica^G, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Marines.¹ He fought in the Siege of Carthagena in 1741.¹
