     Sophia Wilkins was the daughter of unknown Wilkins.¹ She married Major George Saville Burdett, son of Sir Charles Burdett, 4th Bt. and Sarah Halsey.¹ She died on 21 October 1817 at St. Lucia^G, when their barracks collapsed during a hurricane.¹
     Her married name became Burdett.

     Captain Jerome Burdett was born on 27 September 1778 at York, Yorkshire, England^G.² He was the son of Sir Charles Burdett, 4th Bt. and Sarah Halsey.¹ He married Elizabeth Bulleyn.¹ He died in March 1817 at age 38 at Jersey, Channel Islands^G.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Army.¹

     Elizabeth Bulleyn married Captain Jerome Burdett, son of Sir Charles Burdett, 4th Bt. and Sarah Halsey.¹
     Her married name became Burdett.

     Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 6th Bt. was born on 26 December 1806.¹ He was the son of Captain Jerome Burdett and Elizabeth Bulleyn.² He married Harriet Burgess, daughter of William Hugh Burgess and Elizabeth Burdett, on 31 December 1834 at Buckland, Kent, England^G.² He died on 25 August 1848 at age 41, on the way from India to England, while on sick leave.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 41st Madras Native Infantry.² He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Burdett, of Birthwaite, co. York [E., 1665] in December 1839.¹
     He also had two daughters.¹

     William Hugh Burgess married Elizabeth Burdett, daughter of Sir Charles Burdett, 4th Bt. and Sarah Halsey, on 14 January 1802.²
     He was a banker at Birchin Lane, London, England^G.³

     Harriet Burgess was born on 25 November 1807.² She was the daughter of William Hugh Burgess and Elizabeth Burdett.^1,2 She was baptised on 28 January 1808 at St. Edmund the King Church, London, England^G.² She married Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 6th Bt., son of Captain Jerome Burdett and Elizabeth Bulleyn, on 31 December 1834 at Buckland, Kent, England^G.² She died on 21 July 1851 at age 43 at Kentish Town, St. Pancras, London, England^G.² She died intestate and her estate was administered in April 1852.²
     From 31 December 1834, her married name became Burdett.

     Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 7th Bt. was born on 4 November 1835 at Seconderabad, India^G.² He was the son of Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 6th Bt. and Harriet Burgess.¹ He married Grace Grant, daughter of Charles Grant and Isabella Rattray, on 4 April 1871.¹ He died in March 1890 at age 54 at Napier, New Zealand^G.²
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Burdett, of Birthwaite, co. York [E., 1665] on 25 August 1848.¹ He was commissioned in 1855, in the service of the 52nd Foot.² He retired from the military in 1862, with the rank of Lieutenant, late of the 52nd Regiment.¹

     Charles Grant married Isabella Rattray.¹
     He was a farmer.¹ He lived at Napier, New Zealand^G.²

     Grace Grant was born circa 1847 at Scotland.² She was the daughter of Charles Grant and Isabella Rattray.^1,2 She married Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 7th Bt., son of Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 6th Bt. and Harriet Burgess, on 4 April 1871.¹ She died on 6 October 1916 at Dannevirke, New Zealand.²
     From 4 April 1871, her married name became Burdett.

     Sir Charles Grant Burdett, 8th Bt. was born in 1875 at Waikato, New Zealand.^2,3 He was the son of Sir Charles Wentworth Burdett, 7th Bt. and Grace Grant.¹ He married Annie Hay, daughter of Robert Hay and Frederica Coventry, on 25 April 1902 at Registrar’s Office, Dunedin, New Zealand.^1,3 He died on 20 November 1918.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Burdett, of Birthwaite, co. York [E., 1665] in March 1890.¹ He was educated at Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand^G, Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)²
