Sir Edward Broughton, 1st Bt.1

He gained the rank of Captain in the Guards.1 At Gate House Prison, Westminster, London, EnglandG, He was confined for being a Royalist.1 He was created 1st Baronet Broughton, of Marchwiell, co. Denbigh [England] circa 1665, but there is no proof of this creation. He may have only been promised the barionetcy, and died before it could be created.1 He fought in the sea-battle with the Dutch on 3 June 1665, where he was mortally wounded.1
