William John Law1 
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1810 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1813 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was a practising Commissioner of Bankruptcy in 1825.1 He held the office of Chief Commissioner of the Bankruptcy Court between 1853 and 1861.1 He wrote the book On the Passage of Hannibal over the Alps, published 1866.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.1
