     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Austen, of [Hall Place in] Bexley, co. Kent [E., 1660] on 7 October 1743.¹

     Susanna (?) married Sir Sheffield Austen, 5th Bt., son of Sir Robert Austen, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Stawel.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in January 1773 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, and again in May 1774 and 1780.¹
     Her married name became Austen.¹

     Sir Edward Austen, 6th Bt. was born circa 1705.¹ He was the son of Robert Austen and Jane Strode.^1,2 He died on 16 December 1760, unmarried.¹ He was buried on 28 December 1760 at Allington, Kent, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate) in 1761.²
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Austen, of [Hall Place in] Bexley, co. Kent [E., 1660] before 1758, and ‘of Boxley Abbey, co. Kent.¹‘

     Jane Strode was the daughter of William Strode and Elizabeth Upton.^1,2

     William Strode was born between 1550 and 1566.² He married Elizabeth Upton.² He died circa 1592.²
     He lived at Barrington, Somerset, England^G.¹

     Sir Robert Austen, 7th Bt. was born circa 1708.¹ He was the son of Robert Austen and Jane Strode.¹ He married Ann Richardson, daughter of John Richardson and Ann Robinson, on 23 June 1755.² He died on 13 February 1772, without issue.¹ He was buried at Godalming, Surrey, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in February 1772.¹
     He matriculated at Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 11 December 1725.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Austen, of [Hall Place in] Bexley, co. Kent [E., 1660] on 16 December 1760, and ‘of Haslemere, Surrey.¹‘
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Sir John Austen, 1st Bt. was the son of Thomas Austen and Arabella Forset.¹ He died on 22 March 1741/42, unmarried.¹ His will (dated 8 November 1740) was proven (by probate) on 22 March 1741/42.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Middlesex from 1701 to 1702.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Middlesex between 1708 and 1710.¹ In 1710 he sold Tyburn Manor to John Holles, Duke of Newcastle.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Austen, of Derhams [in South Mims], co. Middlesex [Great Britain] on 16 November 1714.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Middlesex between 1722 and 1727.¹ In 1723 he sold the Manor of Highbury, in Islington.¹ In 1733 he sold the reversion of the Manor of Derhams.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Thomas Austen and Arabella Forset obtained a marriage license on 13 October 1673.¹
