He matriculated at Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 11 December 1725.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Austen, of [Hall Place in] Bexley, co. Kent [E., 1660] on 16 December 1760, and ‘of Haslemere, Surrey.1‘
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1

Sir John Austen, 1st Bt.1 
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Middlesex from 1701 to 1702.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Middlesex between 1708 and 1710.1 In 1710 he sold Tyburn Manor to John Holles, Duke of Newcastle.1 He was created 1st Baronet Austen, of Derhams [in South Mims], co. Middlesex [Great Britain] on 16 November 1714.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Middlesex between 1722 and 1727.1 In 1723 he sold the Manor of Highbury, in Islington.1 In 1733 he sold the reversion of the Manor of Derhams.1
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
