Sir Richard Ashfield, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1630.1 He was the son of Sir John Ashfield, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Sutton.1 He married, firstly, unknown Rogers, daughter of Sir Richard Rogers, before 1654.1 He married, secondly, Dorcas Hore, daughter of James Hore, on 20 February 1673/74.1 He died circa 1684.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Ashfield, of Harkestead Hetherhall, co. Suffolk [E., 1626] in 1635.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Gloucestershire from 1668 to 1669.1
