     Edmund Armstrong was the son of William Armstrong and Alice Coghlan.¹ He married Elizabeth Holmes, daughter of George Holmes, in 1722.¹ He died on 15 April 1745.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of King’s County in 1730.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kildare in 1731.¹ He lived at Gallen, County Offaly, Ireland^G.¹

     William Armstrong was born circa 1638.¹ He was the son of Edmund Armstrong and Mary Hamilton.¹ He married Alice Coghlan, daughter of Francis Coghlan.¹ He died in 1717/18.¹

     He lived at Mangerton Castle, Scotland^G.² He emigrated to Ireland^G arriving on circa 1600.² Circa 1600 he migrated from Scotland to Northern Ireland.¹ He was a Royalist in 1641.¹ He gained the rank of officer in 1641 in the horse, under King Charles I.¹ He lived at County Fermanagh, Ireland^G.¹
