     Grizel Maria Thomson of Charleton was the daughter of John Thomson of Charleton and Margaret Paterson.2 She married Colonel John Anstruther, son of Sir Philip Anstruther of Balcaskie, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Hay, in December 1774.2 She died on 5 July 1795.1
     She succeeded as the 16th Lady Sinclair [S., 1449], but for the attainder.1 From December 1774, her married name became Anstruther.2
