     Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg was born on 3 July 1804 at Hildburghausen, Germany^G.¹ He was the son of Friedrich Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Charlotte Georgine Luise Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz.¹ He married Amalie Antoinette Prinzessin von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, daughter of Karl Anton Friedrich Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Antoinette Marie Murat, Princesse Murat, on 25 July 1835 at Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ He married Luise Caroline Prinzessin Reuss zu Greiz, daughter of Heinrich XIX Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort, Princess Rohan-Rochefort, on 8 March 1842 at Greiz, Sachsen, Germany^G.¹ He died on 16 May 1852 at age 47.¹
     He gained the title of Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg.¹

     Amalie Antoinette Prinzessin von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen was born on 30 April 1815 at Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ She was the daughter of Karl Anton Friedrich Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Antoinette Marie Murat, Princesse Murat.¹ She married Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg, son of Friedrich Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Charlotte Georgine Luise Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, on 25 July 1835 at Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ She died on 14 January 1841 at age 25 at Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹

     Antoinette Marie Murat, Princesse Murat was born in 1793. She was the daughter of Pierre Murat.² She married Karl Anton Friedrich Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, son of Anton Aloys Prinz von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Amalie Prinzessin von Salm-Kyrburg, in 1808.³ She died in 1847.²
     She was created Princesse Antoinette Murat on 28 January 1808.

     Luise Caroline Prinzessin Reuss zu Greiz was born on 3 December 1822 at Greiz, Sachsen, Germany^G.¹ She was the daughter of Heinrich XIX Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort, Princess Rohan-Rochefort.¹ She married, firstly, Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg, son of Friedrich Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Charlotte Georgine Luise Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, on 8 March 1842 at Greiz, Sachsen, Germany^G.¹ She married, secondly, Heinrich IV Prinz Reuss zu Köstritz, son of Heinrich LXIII Fürst Reuss zu Köstritz and Eleonore Gräfin zu Stolberg-Wernigerode, on 27 December 1854 at Greiz, Sachsen, Germany^G.² She died on 28 February 1875 at age 52 at Ernstbrunn, Austria^G.¹ She was also reported to have died on 28 May 1875.

     Heinrich XIX Fürst Reuss zu Greiz was born on 1 March 1790 at Offenbach, Germany^G.² He was the son of Heinrich XIII Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Luise Prinzessin von Nassau-Weilburg.² He married Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort, Princess Rohan-Rochefort, daughter of Charles Louis Gaspard Rohan-Rochefort, Prince Rohan-Rochefort, on 7 January 1822 at Prague, Czech Republic^G.² He died on 31 October 1836 at age 46 at Greiz, Sachsen, Germany^G.²
     He gained the title of Fürst Reuss zu Greiz.¹

     Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort, Princess Rohan-Rochefort was born on 27 September 1800.² She was the daughter of Charles Louis Gaspard Rohan-Rochefort, Prince Rohan-Rochefort.² She married Heinrich XIX Fürst Reuss zu Greiz, son of Heinrich XIII Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Luise Prinzessin von Nassau-Weilburg, on 7 January 1822 at Prague, Czech Republic^G.² She died on 27 July 1871 at age 70 at Greiz, Sachsen, Germany^G.²
     She gained the title of Princess Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort.¹

     Sophie Prinzessin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg was born on 18 September 1809 at Prague, Czech Republic^G.² She married Heinrich XX Prinz Reuss zu Greiz, son of Heinrich XIII Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Luise Prinzessin von Nassau-Weilburg, on 25 November 1834.² She died on 21 July 1838 at age 28 at Bubentsch.²

     Therese Amalie Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg was born on 21 December 1836. She was the daughter of Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg and Amalie Antoinette Prinzessin von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.¹ She married August Bernadotte, Prince of Sweden, son of Oskar I Bernadotte, King of Sweden and Joséphine Maximiliane Eugénie Napoléone de Beauharnais, on 16 April 1864 at Altenburg, Germany^G. She died on 9 November 1914 at age 77.
     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg.¹

     Ludwig Joseph Karl Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg was born on 24 September 1839.¹ He was the son of Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg and Amalie Antoinette Prinzessin von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.¹ He died on 13 February 1844 at age 4.¹
     He gained the title of Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg.¹

     Johann Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg was born on 8 January 1841 at Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ He was the son of Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg and Amalie Antoinette Prinzessin von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.¹ He died on 25 February 1844 at age 3.¹
     He gained the title of Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg.¹
