He and Klementine Gabrielle Georgine Benoite Marie Prinzessin von Ratibor zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst were divorced on 22 October 1948. He married, secondly, Margriet Krayenbrink, daughter of Guillaume Pierre Charles Krayenbrink and Everdina Jurriana de Hoog, on 8 June 1964 at The Hague, The Netherlands^G. He died on 3 March 1976 at age 66.
