Colonel Philip Turner van Straubenzee1

     Colonel Philip Turner van Straubenzee was born on 2 March 1912 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa.2 He was the son of Henry Turner van Straubenzee and Elfreda Mowbray Rogers.3 He married Rosemary Imogen Atterbury Clutterbuck, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Walter Edmund Clutterbuck and Gwendoline Atterbury Younger, on 29 May 1954.2 He died on 20 October 2005 at age 93.2
     He was educated at Aysgarth School, Bedale, Yorkshire, North Riding, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the North Riding, Yorkshire in 1959.2 He lived at Spennithorne House, Leyburn, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1
