He married, secondly, Tereza Leite, daughter of Jose Leite and Blanca Cesar, on 29 April 1990 at Petropolis, Brazil^G, in a civil marriage. João Maria and Tereza were also married in a religious ceremony on 11 May 1990 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G. He died on 26 June 2005 at age 88 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.²
     He gained the title of Principe João Maria de Orléans e Bragança.¹ He was given the name of João Maria Felipe Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga at birth.¹ He lived in 1976 at Praia do Flamengo 284, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.¹ He was vice-president of Pan-Air do Brasil.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Brazilian Air Force.¹

     Barbara d‘Ursel, Countess de Boudies was born on 8 August 1958 at Elizabethville, Congo^G. She married Louis Jean de Nicolay, son of René Marie Nicolas de Nicolay, Comte de Nicolay and Pia Maria de Orléans-Bragança e Borbon, on 23 August 1980.
     She gained the title of Countess de Boudies. Her married name became de Nicolay.

     Fatima Sherifa Chirine was born on 19 April 1923 at Cairo, Egypt^G.¹ She was the daughter of Ismail Chirine, Bey and Aisha Mussalan.¹ She married, firstly, Nabil Hassan Toussoun before 1949.¹ She married, secondly, Major João Maria de Orléans Bragança e Dobrzensky de Dobrzenicz, Principe de Orléans e Bragança, son of Pedro de Alcántara d‘Orléans e Bragança, Principe de Grão Pará and Marie Elisabeth Adelheid Gräfin Dobrzensky von Dobrzenicz, on 29 April 1949 at Sintra, Portugal^G.¹ She and Major João Maria de Orléans Bragança e Dobrzensky de Dobrzenicz, Principe de Orléans e Bragança were divorced in 1971. She died on 14 March 1990 at age 66 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.
