He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1937 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2,3 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Northbrook, of Stratton, co. Southampton [U.K., 1866] on 15 December 1947.2 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Baring, of London [G.B., 1793] on 15 December 1947.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire in 1954.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1972.3
