Lady Margaret Leslie1 

Lady Margaret Leslie was born in 1621. She was the daughter of John Leslie, 6th Earl of Rothes and Lady Anne Erskine.1 She married, firstly, Alexander Leslie, Lord Balgonie, son of Alexander Leslie, 1st Earl of Leven and Agnes Renton, in 1636.3 She married, secondly, Francis Scott, 2nd Earl of Buccleuch, son of Walter Scott, 1st Earl of Buccleuch and Lady Mary Hay, circa 25 July 1646.1 She married, thirdly, David Wemyss, 2nd Earl of Wemyss, son of John Wemyss, 1st Earl of Wemyss and Jean Gray, on 13 January 1652/53 at Sheriffhall, ScotlandG.1 She died in February 1688.1
From circa 25 July 1646, her married name became Scott. After her marriage, Lady Margaret Leslie was styled as Countess of Buccleuch circa 25 July 1646. After her marriage, Lady Margaret Leslie was styled as Countess of Wemyss on 13 January 1652/53. From 13 January 1652/53, her married name became Wemyss.

John Leslie, 6th Earl of Rothes 

John Leslie, 6th Earl of Rothes was born in 1596.2 He was the son of James Leslie, Master of Rothes and Katherine Drummond.2 A contract for the marriage of John Leslie, 6th Earl of Rothes and Lady Anne Erskine was signed on 28 December 1614.3 He died in August 1641 at Tours, FranceG, due to an accident of carriage.1,2
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Elgin and Forres.2 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Rothes [S., 1458] in 1611.2 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Leslie [S., 1445] in 1611.2
