Devon [E., 1641] on 30 May 1842.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1847 in the 7th Hussars.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1862 in the North Devon Yeomanry Cavalry.2
