He died on 1 September 1963 at age 66.1
     He lived at The Priory, Stoke-by-Nayland, Suffolk, England.3

     He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.2
