     He gained the rank of Sergeant in the South African Army.¹

     Rose Sykes was born in 1863 at Dorset, England.¹ She married, firstly, Ferdinand Grafton, son of Giovanni Battista Giacometti and Caroline Prodgers, in April 1905 at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.¹ She married, secondly, Geoffrey Draper after 1906.¹ She died in 1945 at Hampshire, England.¹
     From April 1905, her married name became Grafton.¹ From after 1906, her married name became Draper.¹

     He was Captain of the Dockyard and Kings Harbour at Chatham.¹

     From January 1901, her married name became Grafton.¹ From after 1910, her married name became Laird.¹

     Winifred Grafton was born in 1902.¹ She was the daughter of Rear-Admiral Ernest Humbert Grafton and Ethel Maud Wright.¹
