     James Baird Thorneycroft was born on 19 March 1850.¹ He was the son of Thomas Thorneycroft and Jane Whitelaw.¹ He married Annie Chalmers Nicol, daughter of Alexander Nicol, on 7 July 1885.¹ He died on 15 December 1918 at age 68.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He lived at Hill House, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹

     Annie Chalmers Nicol was the daughter of Alexander Nicol.¹ She married James Baird Thorneycroft, son of Thomas Thorneycroft and Jane Whitelaw, on 7 July 1885.¹ She died in 1934.¹
     From 7 July 1885, her married name became Thorneycroft.¹

     Alexander Nicol lived at Murtie House, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.¹

     Hamo Douglas Thorneycroft was born on 4 January 1855.¹ He was the son of Thomas Thorneycroft and Jane Whitelaw.¹ He died on 28 August 1946 at age 91.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Alexander Whitelaw Thorneycroft was born on 19 January 1859.¹ He was the son of Thomas Thorneycroft and Jane Whitelaw.¹ He married Rebecca Frances Percy, daughter of Major J. W. Percy, in June 1903.¹ He died in November 1931 at age 72.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Zulu War between 1879 and 1881.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in dispatches.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1900.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Scots Fusiliers.¹

     Margaret Campbell was the daughter of Alexander Fleming Campbell.¹ She married Wallace Thorneycroft, son of Thomas Thorneycroft and Jane Whitelaw, on 24 October 1894.¹
     From June 1903, her married name became Thorneycroft.¹

     Major J. W. Percy gained the rank of Major in the Norfolk Regiment.¹

     Alexander Fleming Campbell lived at Dromore Lodge, Warrenpoint, County Down, Ireland.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹

     Thomas Hamo Thorneycroft was born on 18 August 1895.¹ He was the son of Wallace Thorneycroft and Margaret Campbell.¹ He died on 5 March 1970 at age 74, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.¹ He was chairman of Harland Engineering Company.¹
