Sir John Throgmorton Middlemore, 1st Bt.1 
In 1872 he founded and managed the Middlemore Children’s Emigration Homes for the emigration and training of destitute children in agriculture in Canada.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Birmingham between 1899 and 1918.1 He was created 1st Baronet Middlemore, of Selly Oak, Northfield, co. Worcester [U.K.] on 27 May 1910.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
