     Sophia Brownrigg Bates was the daughter of Major unknown Bates.¹ She married William Adam Loch, son of James Loch and Ann Orr, in 1847.¹ She died on 11 February 1924.¹
     From 1847, her married name became Loch.¹

     Major unknown Bates gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Thomas Coutts Loch was born in 1816.¹ He was the son of James Loch and Ann Orr.¹ He married Margaret Ogilvie, daughter of Adam Ogilvie, in 1838.¹ He died on 7 July 1858.¹
     He was with the Indian Civil Service.¹

     Margaret Ogilvie is the daughter of Adam Ogilvie.¹ She married Thomas Coutts Loch, son of James Loch and Ann Orr, in 1838.¹
     From 1838, her married name became Loch.¹

     James Loch was born in 1819.¹ He was the son of James Loch and Ann Orr.¹ He died on 6 May 1824.¹

     John Charles Loch was born in 1825.¹ He was the son of James Loch and Ann Orr.¹ He married Ruth Pennycuick, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir John Pennycuick, in 1862.¹ He died on 10 January 1902.¹

     Ruth Pennycuick is the daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir John Pennycuick.¹ She married John Charles Loch, son of James Loch and Ann Orr, in 1862.¹
     From 1862, her married name became Loch.¹

     Brig.-Gen. Sir John Pennycuick was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Ann Loch was born in 1818.¹ She was the daughter of James Loch and Ann Orr.¹ She died in 1836.¹
