     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)² He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Gresley, of Drakelowe, co. Derby [E., 1611] in 1746.¹

     Wilmot Hood was the daughter of unknown Hood.¹ She married Sir Thomas Gresley, 5th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Gresley, 4th Bt. and Dorothy Bowyer, in 1749.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in 1797.¹
     From 1749, her married name became Gresley.¹
