     He was director of the Bank of England between 1717 and 1721.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devizes between 1722 and 1727.¹ He was appointed Knight on 9 December 1724.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Southwark between 1727 and 1734.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devizes between 1734 and 1740.¹ He held the office of Alderman of London from 1739 to 1740.¹

     Sarah Jeffreys is the daughter of Sir Jeffrey Jeffreys and Sarah Dawes.¹ She married Sir Joseph Eyles, son of Sir Francis Eyles, 1st Bt..¹
     Her married name became Eyles.¹

     Sir John Eyles, 2nd Bt. was born in 1683.¹ He was the son of Sir Francis Eyles, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Ayley.¹ He married Mary Haskins Stiles, daughter of Joseph Haskins Stiles and Sarah Eyles.¹ He died on 1 March 1745.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Chippenham between 1713 and 1727.¹ He was director of the Bank of England between 1715 and 1717.¹ He held the office of Alderman of London between 1716 and 1745.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Eyles [G.B.] on 24 May 1716. He was sub-governor of the South Sea Company between 1721 and 1733.¹ He held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1726 to 1727.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for London between 1727 and 1734.¹

     Mary Haskins Stiles is the daughter of Joseph Haskins Stiles and Sarah Eyles.¹ She married Sir John Eyles, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Francis Eyles, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Ayley.¹
     Her married name became Eyles.¹

     Joseph Haskins Stiles married Sarah Eyles, daughter of Sir John Eyles and Sarah Cowper.¹ He died in 1714.¹
     He was a merchant at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.¹ He was given the name of Joseph Haskins at birth.¹

     Sarah Eyles is the daughter of Sir John Eyles and Sarah Cowper.¹ She married Joseph Haskins Stiles.¹
     Her married name became Haskins Stiles.¹
