     From 2 December 1856, her married name became Griffiths.¹

     Alfred Benson Griffiths was the son of John Rogers Griffiths.¹ He married Isabella Jane Brownlow, daughter of Major Frederick Brownlow and Margaret Jane Amiraux, on 2 December 1856.¹ He died on 29 May 1881.¹
     He gained the rank of Ensign in the 82nd Regiment.¹

     John Rogers Griffiths lived at Pilton, Devon, England.¹

     Mary (?) was born circa 1793.¹ She married, firstly, W. Essington before 1851.¹ She married, secondly, Major Frederick Brownlow, son of Lt.-Col. Charles Brownlow and Caroline Ashe, on 31 October 1851.¹ She died on 26 July 1883.¹
     From before 1851, her married name became Essington.¹ From 31 October 1851, her married name became Brownlow.¹

     W. Essington married Mary (?) before 1851.¹ He died before 1851.¹
     He lived at The Firs, Great Malvern, Worcestershire, England.¹

     Colonel George Arthur Brownlow was born on 16 July 1805.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Brownlow and Caroline Ashe.¹ He married Cornelia Paulina Sandby, daughter of Thomas Sandby, on 12 April 1828.¹ He died on 8 May 1869 at age 63.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹

     Cornelia Paulina Sandby was the daughter of Thomas Sandby.¹ She married Colonel George Arthur Brownlow, son of Lt.-Col. Charles Brownlow and Caroline Ashe, on 12 April 1828.¹ She died on 31 August 1893.¹
     From 12 April 1828, her married name became Brownlow.¹

     Field Marshal Sir Charles Henry Brownlow was born on 12 December 1831.¹ He was the son of Colonel George Arthur Brownlow and Cornelia Paulina Sandby.¹ He married Georgiana King, daughter of W. C. King, in 1890.¹ He died on 5 April 1916 at age 84, without issue.¹
     He fought in the Punjab Campaign in 1848.¹ He fought in the Bozdar Expedition in 1857.¹ He fought in the Eusofzal Expedition in 1858.¹ He fought in the China War in 1860.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1863.¹ He fought in the Ambeyla Expedition in 1863.¹ He fought in the Hazara Campaign in 1868.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria between 1869 and 1881.¹ He fought in the Looshal Expedition between 1871 and 1872.¹ He was a practising Assistant Military Secretary at Horse Guards between 1879 and 1889.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1887.¹ He gained the rank of Field Marshal.¹
