He was professor of English at Australian National University, Canberra, A.C.T., Australia.² He wrote the book Chaucer’s English.² He was appointed Member, Order of Australia in 1990.¹ He wrote the book Chaucer’s Landscapes.² He wrote the book Thomas Hardy’s English.²

     Kurt Philip Rudolf Ehrenburg is the son of Victor Gabriel Ehrenburg and Elise Marie A. Helene von Jhering.¹ He married Margarete Landecker.¹
     He was an architect.¹
