Charles Robert Cockerell was born on 28 April 1788 at London, England.2 He was the son of Samuel Pepys Cockerell and Anne Whetham. He married Anna Marie Rennie, daughter of John Rennie, in June 1828.2 He died on 17 September 1863 at age 75.2
He was an architect.2 He held the office of professor of architecture at the Royal Academy between 1840 and 1857.2 He was president of the Royal Institute of Architects between 1860 and 1861.2
