     Margaret Downing Edie was born in 1807.¹ She was the daughter of William Edie.¹ She married Major D’Oyley William Battley, son of Thomas Cade Battley and Belinda Arabella Grange, on 28 October 1839 at St. Peter’s Church, Aungier Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.¹ She died on 13 January 1871 at County Wicklow, Ireland.¹
     From 28 October 1839, her married name became Battley.¹
