     Sir Francis Tress Barry, 1st Bt. was born on 8 June 1825.1 He was the son of Charles Barry and Harriet Ades.1 He married Sarah Douglas Herron, daughter of Arthur Herron, on 4 June 1851.1 He died on 28 February 1907 at age 81.1
     He was British Vice-Consul in the Spanish Province of Biscay.1 He was Acting Consul in the Provinces of Biscay, Santander and Guipuycoa in 1847.1 He was awarded the Cross of Naval Merit Spanish.1 He was awarded the Commander, Order of Christ of Portugal.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Caithness.1 He was created 1° Barão de Barry [Portugal] in 1873.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Windsor between 1890 and 1906.1 He was created 1st Baronet Barry, of St. Leonard’s Hill, Clewer, Berks and Keiss Castle, Caithness [U.K.] on 22 February 1899.1
