     Admiral Sir Charles Farrell Hillyar was born in 1817 at Totnes, Devon, England.¹ He was the son of Rear-Admiral Sir James Hillyar and Mary Lyall Taylor.¹ He died on 14 December 1888 at Torre House, Torpoint, Cornwall, England, unmarried.¹
