Lt.-Gen. Henry Shrapnel1 
Lt.-Gen. Henry Shrapnel was born on 3 June 1761.1 He was the son of Zachariah Shrapnel and Lydia Needham.1 He married Esther Squires on 5 May 1810 at St. Mary’s Church, Lambeth, London, England.1 He died on 13 March 1842 at age 80 at Peartree House, Southampton, Hampshire, England.1
He was inventor of the Shrapnel shell.1
