     Sir William Palmer was born in 1615.¹ He was the son of William Palmer and Barbara Archdale.¹ He married Margaret Gardner, daughter of Sir Thomas Gardner and Rebecca Child.¹ He died in 1671.¹
     In 1636 he succeeded to Ladbroke.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1642 After the Battle of Edgehill.¹ In 1642 he exchanged Ladbroke for Hill with his cousin Sir William Palmer.¹ He held the office of Carver-in-Ordinary to King Charles I in 1645.¹ He lived at Hill, Bedfordshire, England.¹ He had eight sons and a daughter.¹

     Margaret Gardner was the daughter of Sir Thomas Gardner and Rebecca Child.¹ She married Sir William Palmer, son of William Palmer and Barbara Archdale.¹ She died in 1671.¹
     Her married name became Palmer.¹

     Sir Thomas Gardner married Rebecca Child.¹
