     Colonel John Bruce was Commandant of Forces of the Western Australia.¹

     Ellen Shine was the daughter of James Shine.¹ She married Henry Maunsell Lefroy, son of Reverend Henry Lefroy and Dorothea O’Grady, in February 1860.¹ She died on 24 December 1916.¹
     From February 1860, her married name became Lefroy.¹
