     Sir William Cecil Godfrey, 5th Bt. was born in 1857.1 He was the son of Sir John Fermor Godfrey, 4th Bt. and Mary Cordelia Scutt.1,2 He married, firstly, Adela Maud Gethin Hamilton, daughter of Frederick Fownes Hamilton, on 10 February 1885.3 He married, secondly, Mary Henrietta Leeson-Marshall, daughter of Richard John Leeson-Marshall and Rebecca Zena Power, on 21 November 1901.3 He died in November 1926.1,3
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the South West Borderers.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Godfrey, of Bushfield, co. Kerry [I., 1785] on 19 February 1900.3
